Developer Relations Lead, Runpod
About the Speaker:
Jessica Garson Beauchmin leads DevRel at Runpod and has spent their career helping developers get real work done with new tools. She’s held developer advocacy and community roles at companies including Twitter and Elastic, focusing on what developers actually need: clear documentation, working examples, authentic advocacy grounded in the developer experience, and feedback loops that bring developer insights to the people building the product.
Since 2017, she has been active in NYC’s creative and live-coding scenes, performing live-coded noise music and visuals as Messica Arson, using modular synthesizers and voice samples across North America, Europe, and Asia. She organizes RAID NYC, contributes to LivecodeNYC, and speaks regularly at conferences including DevRelCon, All Things Open, PyCon, Write the Docs, and PyOhio. Working across Python, JavaScript, DevOps, and creative coding, she writes and builds to make complex systems feel understandable, memorable, and useful.
Deploying AI applications often involves containers, GPU configuration, dependency management, and infrastructure scaling. Runpod Flash offers a simpler, code-first approach. It lets you define remote functions and hardware requirements in Python and run them on serverless GPUs.
In this talk, we’ll explore how Flash moves Python workloads from local development to cloud deployment, examine its underlying programming model, and build a GPU-backed endpoint. Along the way, we’ll discuss where Flash fits in the AI development stack, the problems it solves, and the trade-offs developers should consider. Attendees will leave with a practical understanding of how to turn local AI code into a scalable service without needing to become infrastructure experts.
